About Us

Healthcare is way too complicated. We are SWVA Direct Primary Care, and we believe that families should have access to care that's focused on the right things—you.

We know how busy you are, and how hard it can be to find time for yourself in a busy day at  work or running to ballgames. At SWVA Direct Primary Care, our goal is to make sure that you get the attention and care you deserve, whether it's a routine checkup or a serious illness. We're not just trying to fix your symptoms—we want to understand what's going on with you, so we can come up with a reasonable plan of action that works best for you as an individual.

What People Say

40 year old man standing in a marina.jpg

SWVA Direct Primary Care provides communication and flexibility that physicians practicing in a traditional setting are not able to compete with.

Family at home

If you’re sick of waiting months for doctors to simply refer you to another doctor & paying out the wazoo for it… [Dr.] Couch is your guy. He has lead me to understand more about my health & I am a big fan of the Osteopathic adjustments. 5 stars from our family!

Happy woman

Dr. Couch really takes his time to listen and evaluate symptoms and overall well-being. I actually felt like he was listening to what I had to say, which isn’t super common anymore.

  • Does Direct Primary Care require a long-term commitment?
We only require a 3 month minimum period of enrollment. This is so we can both be committed to investing time and energy into your health and long-term goals. We are not an Urgent Care.
  • Can I still see specialists if I have Direct Primary Care?
Yes, you can still see specialists if you have Direct Primary Care. Despite not taking insurance here, we can refer you to a specialist and send your medications to your pharmacy.
  • What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care is a new model of healthcare where patients pay a monthly fee to have access to comprehensive medical care from a primary care physician. This model is different from traditional insurance-based healthcare because it eliminates the middleman and reduces the cost of care. Additionally, this allows us to provide more personalized care and remain available when you need us.
  • Is Direct Primary Care covered by insurance?
No, Direct Primary Care is not covered by insurance. However, some patients choose to use their health savings accounts (HSAs) to pay for Direct Primary Care services.
